Sino Tibetan Tara image, she is worshipped as a Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism and Bodhisattva in Mahayana, fundamentally she represents the feminine nature of Buddhism. She is seated in lalitasana with hands in varada- and vitarkamudra, with downcast eyes beneath a tiered crown fronting a tall chignon, wearing a dhoti, elaborate jewelry and long scarf. This is a lost wax bronze cast image copy of a Ming piece from the 20th century. The face is absolutely gorgeous. An original one would cost in the realm of $50,000.USD and upwards. H 36cm/14in.
